Introduction

LGH is one of the 3 sites of UHL and has 430 beds.
We have a total of 20 theatres, 16 in the main building and 2 theatres at the delivery suite and 2 at the EMPCC ( East Midlands Planned Care Centre).
We have a wide variety of surgeries ranging from Urology, Robotic urology , General gynae including robotics , Gynae Oncology , elective ortho, variety of day case procedures and general surgery . We are a high volume centre for Robotic prostatectomy and cystectomy.
We have specialised Sleep and Pain services at LGH.

Facilities

  • Operating theatres: 20 theatres, including East Midlands Planned Care Centre
  • Specialist services: Urology, Robotic urology , General gynae including robotics , Gynae Oncology , elective ortho, variety of day case procedures and general surgery
  • Obstetrics: busy delivery suite (circa 4,400 births/year).
  • Consultant body: cross‑site department with 41 substantive consultants, 5 associate specialists and 3 specialists.
